Jairaj Ramachandran worked in various functions of engineering, for the General Electric Company, during his working career of 36 years. Since retirement, Jairaj has been spending his time following his passion of continued learning at Furman University’s OLLI program for retirees, and contributing to social programs. He enjoys listening to audiobooks on his long walks. He also enjoys his long time practice of yoga and meditation.

He currently supports patients in need of Palliative Care at his ancestral town of Kollengode in Kerala, through the local Government Hospital. He has also been engaged with the Palliative Care unit at the Adyar Cancer Institute in Chennai, in setting up a support group of fellow alumni from the Indian Institute Of Technology, Madras. 

Jairaj lives with his wife Viji in Greenville, South Carolina.
